Transitional Teacher (Industrial Arts)

This position is part of the Wingate High School, Bureau of Indian Education. As a Transitional Teacher (Industrial Arts) you will be responsible for serving as a classroom teacher in a BIE school on or near the Reservation. This position requires SCHOOL YEAR CONTRACT per Public Law 95-561 and will require contract renewal on an annual basis. This position IS NOT suitable for telework or remote consideration under any circumstances.

Basis of Rating: All applicants for this position will be rated based upon the documentation submitted. Applications may be further evaluated by subject matter expert. The judgment of qualifications will be based on the material submitted; therefore, it is to the applicant's advantage to give complete and thorough responses and to present information in a neat and orderly fashion. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and licensure contained in the approved job category for P.L. 95-561 described below.

Basic Education & Licensure Requirement for Transitional Teacher position: Possess a Bachelor's Degree (or higher) from an accredited education institution. Provide proof of enrollment in a local State's alternative teaching licensure/certificate program within 90 days of the start date of the position.

Enrollment should be for the appropriate endorsement/subject field as identified in the Job Opportunity Announcement (e.g. elementary, mathematics, special education, chemistry, etc.) in the State where the position is located. Note: Applicants with DODEA certification can work with States directly for reciprocity licensure and not required to enroll in Alternative Licensure program unless State stipulates such.
