Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Response)

This position is located in Region Six, Response Division. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience supervising and overseeing staff that perform work involved in managing, and coordinating with other entities in the emergency response to intentional and/or unintentional crises, disasters, other humanitarian emergencies, hazards, or natural and man-made/technological incidents.

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-15 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Managing emergency management response programs or major response operations, AND Directing or overseeing multiple functional areas such as operations, logistics, planning, disaster emergency communications, incident management, watch operations, or geospatial support, AND Providing technical guidance on emergency response policies, authorities, plans, and procedures; coordinating complex response issues with Federal, State, local, tribal, territorial, nongovernmental, or private-sector partners.
