This vacancy is for a Supervisory Business and Industry Specialist (Division Director) in the Chemical, Biological, and Nuclear Division (CBND), Office of Nonproliferation and Foreign Policy Controls (NFPC), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Export Administration (EA), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) within the Department of Commerce.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as: Leading or providing expertise in national-security-related policy development and/or conducting high-level analysis to inform senior decision makers; and Representing an organization to a variety of stakeholders, i.e., senior leaders, international or interorganizational counterparts, or multi-lateral organizations; and Supervising and directing the work of multidisciplinary (i.e. technical and non-technical) staff, including assigning priorities, evaluating performance, guiding workforce development, and managing resources to meet mission and operational requirements.
