The incumbent serves as a liaison between the SAA, Congressional offices, the USCP, and other stakeholders to administer security programs. The incumbent processes requests for facility access, as well as law enforcement support requests. The incumbent serves as the SAA representative to the USCP Command Center and Protective Intelligence Operations Center. This job requires an understanding of security and law enforcement principles to ensure the delivery of security services to stakeholders.

Job Requirements: Experience in law enforcement, security, security management, emergency response, intelligence analysis or a related field. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. The job requires preparing time-sensitive reports and communicating with various stakeholders. Ability to gather, analyze, and disseminate information effectively. This includes monitoring police activity, tracking incidents, and reporting information to senior staff.

Experience in coordinating activities between different organizations or teams. The role involves liaison with the USCP and other entities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and process multiple tasks simultaneously. The job involves dealing with time-sensitive and event-driven situations. Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn relevant SAA policies, House Rules, Committee rules, and USCP policies. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working with or within the legislative branch or government.

Familiarity with the Capitol Hill complex and its security protocols. Experience in preparing and delivering briefings to senior-level staff. Knowledge of incident reporting and management systems. Background in intelligence analysis or threat assessment. Degree in a relevant field (e.g., criminal justice, public administration, political science). Knowledge of different writing techniques for different document types and purposes. Ability to create written documents that are complete, grammatically accurate, and technically sound. Ability to articulate ideas clearly through speech. Customer Orientation - Values and delivers high quality, professional, responsive, and innovative service to internal and external customers. Builds and maintains effective customer relations that result in satisfaction; holds self and others accountable for quality outcomes.

Decision Making - Skill in making sound, well-informed, and objective decisions, taking into consideration the potential impact and implications of the decisions. Ability to commit to action even in uncertain situations. Organizational Awareness - Knowledge of the structure, functions, and dynamics present within the U.S. House of Representatives and the Office of the Sergeant at Arms. Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures that govern the organization.

Knowledge of how the Sergeant at Arms fits within the broader context of Federal agencies and how it contributes to government functioning. Planning and Coordination - Ability to organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements. Ability to determine short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them. Ability to coordinate with others to accomplish goals. Skill in monitoring progress in relation to desired outcomes.

Problem Solving - Ability to identify problems; skill in determining accuracy and relevance of information. Ability to use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, develop effective solutions, and make recommendations. Work Schedule: This is a full-time, permanent position. The anticipated work schedule will be either Wednesday through Sunday or Saturday through Wednesday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The specific schedule will be determined based on operational needs.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: This job is based in a typical office environment. Actual weight handled varies, but the role involves handling items including books, documents, and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. The incumbent should be capable of meeting physical requirements, which may include sitting, lifting, bending, crouching, walking, and standing. Other Significant Factors: Job requires on-call support. Job does not typically require travel outside of Capitol campus.

Job may be required to report to work in all conditions. Job may require various shifts, extended hours, or weekends.
