Recreation Assistant (Intermediate Guide)

About the position: This position will be assigned to Outdoor Creation located on Peterson Space Force Base. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug test. Must be able to lift items weighing 40 pounds or more. This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures is required. First Aid, CPR, and Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification or higher is required. Must have a valid driver's license and must be able to obtain a Government Driver's License.

Must have one or more of the following certifications; American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) trained, AMGA Climbing Wall Instructor, Mountain Bike Instructor, American Canoe Association (ACA) Swift Water Rescue Technician Level 4, ACA Stand Up Paddleboard instructor, ACA White Water Kayaking Level 4 Instructor, American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) Level I, AIARE Level 2, AIARE PRO I, Royal Gorge Guide, River Guide Instructor, or White Water River Guide (multiple state licenses accepted): other similar outdoor recreation certifications may be recognized.

Must be able to satisfactorily complete and pass a pre-employment physical and provide proof of immunizations. Must be able to obtain and present a current and satisfactory driver's record. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier I National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background check, a State Criminal History Repository Check(s), and Installation Records Check (IRC). Position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening and randomized drug testing.

Must be able to lift items weighing 40 pounds or more above head.
