The Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellowship in Canada is a six-to-twelve-month program designed to strengthen understanding and cooperation between emerging leaders in the United States and Canada. For the 2027-2028 cycle, eligible U.S. mid-career professionals may undertake a full-time, in-person fellowship with a Canadian host institution.
The fellowship provides a $110,000 stipend for a twelve-month term, or a prorated amount for a shorter fellowship, together with a modest travel allowance. Applicants must meet CFR's eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, a strong record of professional achievement, at least a bachelor's degree, and a demonstrated interest in U.S.-Canada relations. Applications close October 30, 2026.
