Assistant Maintenance Coordinator

This position is located in the Commander, Navy Region Mid- Atlantic, Fleet and Family Readiness Support Community Recreation (Maintenance) in Naval Submarine Base New London. The purpose of the position is to supervise other members of the construction and renovation team as well as to perform work alongside co-workers in the construction, renovation, maintenance and repair of facilities assigned.

A qualified candidate possesses the following: Certificate or license in at least one of the major trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.) is strongly preferred, but may be substituted by a minimum of 2 years of general trades experience with a minimum of one year of c documented specialized training and/or experience in a combination of trades listed above. A minimum of two years supervisory experience is required. Prior Navy, MWR or military experience preferred.

Must possess documented experience in efficient management of personnel and resources for renovation/ repair projects, preferably including MWR or other military non-appropriated fund operations, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and drafting's accurately, and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must be able to appraise various program elements, evaluate and effect/ recommend improvement to best achieve goals.

Must display the ability to adjust work operations to meet urgent or changing situations. This position requires travel to other bases within the CNRMA region or CNIC enterprise. Travel could be up to 50% of the time depending on projects and workload.
