Your role will support the day-to-day operations in providing care and support to people with a range of differing needs, delivering high-quality, person-centred care to individuals. The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience and new skills, working alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work Listed below are the tasks this role will be primarily responsible for: To attend to all personal care needs, in line with individual requirements of the service user To use specialist equipment to ensure all care needs are met To follow requirements of the care plan, support plan, risk management plan etc. as appropriate To encourage individuals to participate in activities and support individuals in those activities To develop/contribute to the development of activities that are of benefit/interest to the individual To work to all policies and procedures, e.g. safeguarding, infection control, health and safety etc.

To work as a keyworker To participate and contribute to service user reviews To work independently with service users as required – either within a care or community setting, escorting on transport etc.

To support people to access community based activities, reflecting their choices and interests, including the use of public resources and transport To complete and maintain documentation relevant to the service and the service user To highlight any areas of concern to a senior member of staff Maintain a clean and tidy environment To ensure service users feel respected and fully involved in their care Training will be through course worksheets and mentoring by other qualified staff

New Steps is a day care provider for people with disabilities. Your role will be to provide care and support to people with differing needs. You will have a person centred approach giving individuals opportunities to access the community and support with activities within our base while maintaining respect and dignity at all times.

Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Level 2 (GCSE) Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate Training will be delivered in the workplace

Possibility of progression and contract of employment

New Steps is a day care provider for people with disabilities. We provide care and support, either within the day care setting or in the community, to people with a disability. We support people to be as independent as possible and work in a person-centred way.

Subject to passing a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
